Maintain-It-Yourself™

A Maintain-It-Yourself™ web site consists of a basic html web site plus software that empowers you to take charge of your own expenses by enabling you to Maintain-It-Yourself™. We follow a no nonsense approach. We don't sell you anything you don't need. And we always offer you the choice to do-it-yourself. As with most things, the more you do the less it costs. Well, this finally applies to basic small business web sites.

Sample Costs:

  • A five page custom designed site, themed to your small business

  • Website hosting
    • New domain name or transfer of existing name - $5.99 per year

      Note that this isn't restricted to only changing web pages that already exist. You can also create new professional looking web pages yourself that match the look and feel of the rest of your site. So here is another cost savings. You don't have to pay for as many professionally built pages. You can have these first five pages professionally built and then use those pages as templates, or models, for new ones that you create yourself. This can save you additional hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars

This represents some significant savings for the small business.

Fisrt of all, PayPal signup is free. You don't need a merchant account, and there are no monthly fees. You pay a transaction fee when a purchase occurs, as low as 1.9% + $.30 per transaction. Check the PayPal site for current fee schedule. PayPal currently supports sending and receiving payments in five currencies: U.S. Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling, and Yen.

Secondly, with this option you do not need a database or a more expensive eCommerce web site hosting account. All this can be done on a standard "no bells or whistles" account.

Full Store level

This is the eCommerce solution for the larger retail business.

    • Maintain-It_Yourself™ store administration
      • Once set up, this is another Maintain-It-Yourself™ solution. The entire store can be administered through your web browser. Already Included in Store Set Up & Software cost above.

Unless you only integrate with PayPal you will likely need a merchant account.

   
Hybrid

This is, as you might expect, a combination of services.

It's for the small business that wants the advantages of a Maintain-It-Yourself ™ web site but doesn't always have the staff or the time.

It's also for the web site that may have a function or two that doesn't lend itself to self maintenance.

We can work out an arrangement where you can Maintain-It-Yourself™ when appropriate and use us to maintain it for you whenever you need us to.

Keep in mind that these are simply very small web sites. It doesn't get easier or cheaper than this.

Banner Ads

Todays banners generally come in one of three sizes and can be static or animated.

The most popular by far is 468 x 60. This is the size you generally see at the top of web pages.

Next in popularity is 125 x 125. Most times these can be seen running down the sides of pages.

Lastly is the "half size" banner of 234 x 60.

Below are general banner restrictions that most sites enforce.

File size for the banner cannot exceed 25 kilobytes.
The maximum length of the alternative text is 50 characters.
Animations are accepted as long as file size constraints are met.
